I first met Scott Sherwood two years ago. His honesty, optimism and sheer drive impressed me from day one. I call him my energy amplifier. He is the co-founder and CEO of Dynamically Loaded, their geo-located WiFi access point database, now exceeds 100 million unique access points, and is one of the largest in the world. It makes me happy that our meeting led to great projects for Snook and I'm delighted Scott is coming to meet the Digital Experience Design students. I'm in the process of trying to convince Scott to wear his kilt when he visits Hyper Island. Please feel free to comment on this post to share your encouragement for this idea.
Here's what he has to say...
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt over the last year?
Team is everything! They must believe in the shared vision, work hard on their component of that vision, and most importantly trust that the others will do the same.
What’s your burning question of the moment?
I have two:
1. What can I do to truly make someone else’s experience of the world awesome?
2. How do you build a $billion dollar company?
What’s the most inspiring thing you’ve seen/ heard/ read in the last year?
seanwes.com podcasts. Genius!
What would be your one piece of advice to students on Hyper Island’s new MA in Digital Experience Design?
You can’t design great experiences without being deeply immersed in the world and your relationship with it. So if you haven’t done it already, go out and find the things that can surprise you, delight you, shock you etc. from your daily life that you usually miss it will open your mind up to the possibilities others are blind to!
